This article is intended for Texas parents to help them understand the age requirements for the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) Program.
A child is eligible to participate in the TEFA Program if they meet the age requirements to attend a Texas public school, charter school, or prekindergarten program.
- Prekindergarten children must be at least 3 years of age and no older than 5 by September 1, 2026.
- Kindergarten through 12th-grade children must be between the ages of 5 and 25 by September 1, 2026.
