This article is intended to provide schools with information about tuition requirements for participants in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program.
Schools may establish tuition policies that apply to all children, which may include reduced tuition rates for parishioners, for children of teachers and staff, etc. A TEFA child's tuition should reflect the school’s established tuition policy for other similarly situated children without regard to TEFA participation. Schools may not set different tuition rates for children based on TEFA participation. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts will review tuition charges to ensure schools are not charging program participants more than non-participating children.
